Job Description
The Editorial Director for AFR Ventures is responsible for driving the strategic and editorial success of key Financial Review projects, including its influential AFR Lists and Summits across key industries. AFR Ventures also oversees the paper’s Special Reports, Thought Leadership and a broad range of special events. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Ventures and work closely with the Commercial Director to develop and deliver high-quality content for new and existing partners.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and optimise new and existing event opportunities, ensuring timely, high-standard delivery of themes, agendas, and speakers.
- Collaborate with Sales to conceptualise and present Special Report opportunities; oversee the Special Reports Editor to ensure high-quality, timely content.
- Manage Program Managers to ensure successful delivery of AFR Lists, covering operations, marketing, methodology, and customer service.
- Grow and execute Thought Leadership initiatives, developing a suite of products like Insights Reports, Roundtables, and whitepapers.
- Explore and propose new products such as polling and market research, crafting campaign proposals and pricing.
Qualifications
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Proven experience in editorial leadership, content marketing, or journalism, ideally within finance or events.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to conceptualise and develop editorial and content opportunities.
- Team leadership experience with high standards for planning, execution, and performance.
- Competent in data analysis for measuring campaign and program success.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to work cross-functionally and engage clients.
- Skilled in event planning with a focus on engaging, high-quality content delivery.
