Job Description
The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of tasks within the Media Services Department. The primary responsibility is to service the replay requirements of productions taking place in the studios. Additionally, it is responsible for servicing the record and export needs of both internal and external departments. This role is crucial in completing all scheduled jobs to a technically accurate level, ensuring the highest quality output.
Day to day you will be responsible for:
- The smooth running of area and completion of all bookings
- Error free ingests and records. Adapting to varied and complex program formats.
- The knowledge of all relevant equipment and the willingness to assist internal & external clients to complete their bookings
- Maintaining technically accurate records, replays, archive and playouts
- Assisting in the principal goal of maintaining the continuity and quality of Nines transmission
- Dealing with pressure, prioritising and performing duties with minimum delay
- Ensuring and encouraging a free flow of information across the department and inter departments
- Setting up and operating various broadcast equipment including EVS
Qualifications
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Knowledge of television production and transmission principles
- Knowledge of precision instruments to measure vision and audio parameters
- Computer literacy
- Technical adaptability
- Understanding of codecs, processes and systems involved in ingesting and recording material
- Computer skills on relevant software applications e.g. EVS, Adobe Suite, Media Proxy
- Competent in ingesting or edit assisting techniques
- Knowledge of production procedures, terminology, and equipment operation.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications
- Ability to work under pressure in a “live” dynamically changing environment
- Ability to work on studio productions requiring standard operations
