PURPOSE
To create dream spaces for our clients that perfectly suit their style, budget, and spatial needs. Connect with the client to a granular level to ensure confidence and excitement during their life changing project.
Needing a strong grounding in concept design, design development and design detail, this role will suit a highly capable all-rounder with a focus on luxury residential design. You will need proven experience in a similar role managing all stages of your own projects while resourcing and overseeing a team. To thrive in this role, it is essential you will have an empathic approach with strong client focus, high attention to detail, excellent space planning, a good understanding of construction documentation and a second to none understanding of functionality.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITES
• Lead client meeting to understand their vision for their space and how they live in detail, deliver concepts and spaces to perfectly match it every time.
• Responsible for overseeing your own projects and its deliverables from conception to completion, creating and owning conceptual direction for projects.
• Ability to collaborate and design within a team
• Oversee creation of Revit documentation drawings that perfectly reflect your design for builders / trades to easily implement.
• Consistently deliver projects that balance the design brief, budget (both time and spend allocations), and client expectations with equal emphasis on each part.
• Expertly triage project priorities and manage their solutions in the most cost and time effective manner.
• Liaise between projects, trades, and clients consistently for fluid and clear communications and expectation setting.
• Remain up to date on all industry developments to remain current and recommend company responses as required.
• Carry out site Design Management visits as required, and problem solve solution with trades on site
• Independently prepare quick solutions for any design issue both during design and Design Management.
• Nurture working relationships with vendors, builders and actively work to widen this network under SB.
• Time management - working within allocated budgeted hours for projects.
• Coordinate DA and CDC approvals documentation (if necessary) and Coordination with certifier / council.
•Show an interest and a curiosity towards how Ai can assist the interior design process. Be able to demonstrate this during the interview process.
LEADERSHIP
• Manage workloads and project resourcing with our team in our international office.
• Perform technical and design QA - ensuring all designs are functional and can be built.
• Peer review documentation and deliver feedback in a concise and effective manner.
• Proficiently balance several projects at once and mentor team members on how to manage their own.
• Prepare improvements to SB’s working systems with guidance from Creative Director and recommend improvements as needed.
• Proactively provide mentorship to the design and delivery team across functionality, constructability, concept, and client management.
• Play an active part in continuous improvement of SB practices, as well as embedding them.
• Understanding when to exercise restraint and always demonstrate a professional work ethic.
• Know own limitations and strengths, as well as being able to recognize them in others – know when to ask for assistance and encourage others to do the same.
• Share knowledge: seek opportunities to inspire team through internal communications, share recent client project presentations, industry knowledge, products, leading discussions at team meetings etc.
• Maintain up to date project records for all team members to reference against and oversee all junior team members are following the same standard.
• At all times, be responsible for driving SB’s Vision, Mission, and Value.
