Job Description
9News Sydney is looking for an experienced and dynamic Multimedia News Producer to join our fast-paced newsroom. You’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality journalism content that informs, educates, and engages our viewers, covering stories that matter across Sydney, Australia, and the world. You’ll work alongside the Executive Producer and collaborate with a passionate team to bring impactful news to life.
Day to day you will:
- Support the Executive Producer in creating audience-focused content.
- Research, develop, script, and edit news stories.
- Identify compelling stories and angles that resonate with our viewers.
- Ensure content is accurate and legally sound.
- Contribute to the delivery of news across 11.30am, 4pm, and 6pm bulletins.
- Assist with rolling coverage during breaking news events.
- Operate in the control room environment to bring broadcasts to air.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
What we would like to see:
- Strong knowledge of news and current affairs.
- Experience in TV, radio, or other news media.
- Strong communication and broadcast writing skills.
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Understanding of media and broadcast law.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with desktop editing, Avid and ENPS systems, is highly advantageous.
