We are on the lookout for an amazing Account Manager or Senior Account Manager to join our growing team! This role will see you jumping into an exciting mix of client accounts across industries including spirits, hospitality (restaurants and bars), consumer tax services, lifestyle and more.
You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional results for our clients, working on innovative campaigns, building strong media relationships and bringing big ideas to life. What's involved in your day-to-day
- Account Management: Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, delivering seamless communication, counsel, and support. Build trust and confidence through consistent, proactive relationship management. Manage multiple projects to deliver results on or before the deadline.
- Campaign Strategy & Execution: Work closely with senior team members to develop, manage and execute PR strategies and campaigns, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand positioning
- Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and other stakeholders. Oversee and review media lists. Pitch press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast, online and social media and secure coverage that drives client objectives. Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople - in person or over the phone - and facilitate these meetings when required
- Content Development: Write and review high-quality content including press releases, media pitches, FAQs, key message documents, case studies, long-form content pieces, feature articles, product pitches and event briefs/runs sheets
- Client Reporting & Insights: Monitor media coverage and report results, in a timely manner, to the wider team and clients. Oversee the development of reports. Analyse campaign performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to inform future strategies
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Support junior team members by delegating tasks, providing constructive feedback, and helping them develop their skills. Lead by example, foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment and contribute positively to the agency’s culture
- Social Media & Influencer Engagement: Oversee the development and implementation of social media strategies, including influencer collaborations, content creation and reporting on engagement metrics
- Event Support: Manage and execute client events, such as product launches, media famils, and influencer activity, ensuring all details are delivered to perfection
- New Business Development: Support new business pitches and proposals by contributing ideas, research and strategies. Participate in opportunities to grow existing accounts and brainstorm fresh ideas for PR campaigns
- Administration/Other: Promptly respond to phone calls and emails from the team and journalists. Update and manage the master media list. Attend training, client events and industry conferences
Key skills
- English language fluency: You need to have excellent written and spoken English
- Strong copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills (you need to be hot on spelling, grammar and proof-reading) with creative flair and attention to detail
- Confident presentation skills to communicate ideas effectively to clients, media, and the internal team. You need to be ballsy enough to pick up the phone to national journalists and resilient enough to handle criticism and rejection.
- Advanced organisational and time management skills to prioritise competing deadlines without compromising quality
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships - whether it’s over the phone, by email or in person, PR is all about people, so you need to be approachable, friendly and empathetic, and be able to relate to people on different levels within the agency, with clients and with the media.
- Excellent email and telephone manner: You will spend a lot of your time liaising with media, client and suppliers
- Resilience and adaptability to thrive under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Time management skills: you will often be working to tight media deadlines as well as meeting the demands and pressures of your team and clients, so you need to be able to work efficiently, without compromising on quality.Strong business acumen and the ability to align PR strategies with client goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Communications, Media, PR or Journalism or relevant industry experience
- 3–5 years of PR/marketing or communications experience, preferably in a consumer comms environment.
- Experience working on finance/consumer lifestyle accounts would be advantageous
- A proven track record of managing multiple accounts, delivering measurable PR outcomes, and achieving client satisfaction.
- Experience in media relations, influencer campaigns, and event management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and client expectations effectively.
- Familiarity with analytics tools to monitor and report on PR and social media performance is an advantage.
