We are now seeking aTextile Designer to join our creative studio and play a key role in shaping our seasonal collections. This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who thrives on pattern creation, surface design, and trend forecasting, with a passion for transforming interiors through textiles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design original textile prints and surface patterns for seasonal ranges including cushions, bedding, throws, and other home décor.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to develop cohesive, on-brand collections that reflect current trends and the KAS aesthetic.
- Translate mood boards and trend insights into commercially viable designs across multiple product categories.
- Prepare repeat patterns, colour separations, and production-ready artwork files for both digital and screen printing.
- Work collaboratively with product development and sampling teams to ensure design intent is executed through to final production.
- Liaise with offshore suppliers and printers to manage sampling and strike-off approvals.
- Assist with fabric and trim sourcing in alignment with sustainability and quality standards.
- Maintain an organised digital design archive and product development tracker for ongoing collections.
- Stay up to date with interior and fashion trends, colour forecasting, and material innovations.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Textile Design, Surface Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in textile or surface design within homewares, fashion, or interiors.
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, especially Illustrator, Photoshop & In design. Knowledge of Procreate or other illustration tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of textile construction, print techniques, and colour matching.
- Excellent hand-drawing or painting skills, as well as proficiency in digital illustration.
- Strong eye for colour, pattern, and scale, with the ability to balance commercial and creative needs.
- Experience managing multiple deadlines and design projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience in homewares is highly desirable but not essential.
