The role
This position is a critical supporting role in all aspects of the AFC’s member value proposition. The Memberships & Administration Coordinator is the key interface for administration of members' experience with the AFC and supports the organisation to have the right information at the right time to cultivate member relationships. Reporting to the Industry Relations Manager, the Memberships & Administration Coordinator is the custodian of membership data.
Working from the Powerhouse Museum and one day a week from home, your week includes meeting with brands and manufacturers about membership, helping new members access their membership benefits, assisting with member events like member forums, toolkit and report launches and AFC participation in industry events like AFW, M/FW and PMFF as well as our own Australian Fashion Conference.

Roles & Responsibilities
MEMBERSHIP ADMINISTRATION
- Manage the AFC inbox and action enquiries within two business days
- Manage membership on-boarding and off-boarding process, complete monthly membership reporting payment reconciliation
- Manage travel, invoices and payments
- Oversee AFC registered charity reporting and donation administration
- Maintain and update AFC membership portal, CRM and AFC Directory
- Create weekly and monthly membership reports to present to the team, regularly seeking improvements on the information provided and identifying learnings from experience which can improve future engagement.
- Present weekly overviews of external AFC meetings and prepare meeting briefers
- Assist team members with ad-hoc administration tasks
MEMBERSHIP ACQUISITION & RETENTION
- Lead research on the Australian fashion and textiles industry which supports the identification of membership prospects and acquisition of new members
- Contribute to the development of the AFC membership acquisition strategy and play a supporting role in its implementation
- Identify potential members and attend meetings to drive new member acquisition
- Ensure strategic follow up takes place with members ahead of membership renewal
- Review membership processes to ensure an efficient member experience
MEMBERSHIP CONTENT & PROGRAMMING
- Assist in the development of the AFC’s impact programs, including reports, presentations, events, webinars, member resources and project proposals
- Support with grant applications and acquittals to fund member impact programs
- Provide membership analytics and data to support the marketing teams to create engaging member acquisition and retention campaigns
- Develop and design presentation decks
- Attend conferences and industry events as required
What we are looking for
- Tertiary qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience in a business environment, preferably with a Membership Organisation
- Excellent skills in excel and data management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Openness to new ways of working and comfortable working in a high paced and dynamic environment
- Experience in clothing and apparel is a strong advantage
