Junior Consultant (Account Junior to Account Coordinator)

Junior Consultants play a vital role in our high-performing team. They manage all aspects of their accounts with precision and provide strong support to deliver on client briefs alongside the wider team.
This hands-on role requires excellent organisational skills, exceptional time management, and keen attention to detail, along with a willingness to learn. You are expected to take initiative and perform your duties responsibly, minimising the need for follow-ups from your team.
It’s essential to communicate proactively with your line manager, particularly when you encounter potential issues—whether a delivery might be delayed or if you receive an email from a journalist that raises questions. Transparency is crucial in this role.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone new to the field of creative communications, providing valuable exposure and experience in client management and an understanding of how communications contribute to building consumer brands.
Day-to-Day Role
- News & trends
- Reading newspapers and news / lifestyle publications to familiarise yourself with the stories and journalists - adding new journalists to our master media lists and sending trending stories to the wider team
- Utilise tools and resources such as news outlets, magazines, Meltwater, iSentia, Telum, Social Diary, LinkedIn, and Twitter to understand journalists' needs for compelling stories
- Manage master media list to ensure contacts are up to date
- Always On Media relations
- Stay on top of trending topics to identify cultural hijacking opportunities.
- Support the team with product pitching
- Start to build relationships with key journalists via meet & greets and at events
- Writing press releases and product fact sheets
- Client Campaigns:
- Attend and contribute to creative brainstorming sessions
- Support the team with campaign delivery which may include liaising with suppliers, ordering products for media kits, assembling media kits, arranging couriers, event management
- Coverage Tracking & Reporting
- Manage media monitoring platform: Checking for new coverage and that coverage hasn't been missed, liaising with the platform account manager for missing coverage.
- Updating the client media coverage tracker and inputting coverage metrics such as impressions, key message delivery, image inclusion, quality score
- Assess media coverage critically to understand the value to the client
- Manage weekly and monthly coverage reports for the client
- Admin:
- Place product orders for PR and influencers and manage client stock levels.
- Take minutes in every meeting and issue recaps within 24 hours, ensuring all documents and assets are saved correctly on the server
- Coordinate meetings by arranging room bookings, scheduling, preparing WIP documents, and following up with the team to ensure key milestones are met.
- Maintain a good understanding of budgets and supplier invoices.
- Client Relationships: Develop an in-depth knowledge of client's; businesses, products, offerings, and competitors, staying updated with relevant news
Requirements for This Position
- Entry-level position, requiring a university degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Strong interest in consumer tech, lifestyle, travel, and food sectors.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Someone who is proactive, takes initiative and is hungry to learn.
