Flicks is a content discovery platform used by over 14 million Australians and New Zealanders each year. We bring together nationwide cinema showtimes, streaming listings, and editorial recommendations into one beautiful, award-winning product (website and app).
Flicks is growing rapidly – and we’re looking for a sharp, organised, and movie-obsessed sub-editor and content creator to join the team.
The Role
You’ll work closely with the Head of Content and Curation to help shape, polish, publish, and promote content across the Flicks platform and various social/digital channels.
The role combines sub-editing, publishing (using WordPress), content formatting, social media and content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Sub-edit feature articles and other editorial content
- Format, publish, and optimise articles in WordPress
- Format and distribute email campaigns and newsletters (using Brevo)
- Publishing and scheduling content across social media platforms
- Maintain editorial consistency, accuracy, tone, and style across platforms
- Help ensure content is engaging, visually appealing, and optimised for audience reach
About You
You’re detail-oriented, highly organised, comfortable working independently, and have a flair for writing and communication. You have an instinct for what makes entertainment content engaging online, and a genuine passion for movies and TV.
You’ll bring:
- Excellent writing and sub-editing skills
- Experience working in digital publishing, editorial, media, or content production
- Strong proficiency with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- A sharp eye for layout, imagery, branding, and presentation
- Familiarity with social media publishing and audience engagement
- Confidence juggling multiple tasks and deadlines
- Knowledge of contemporary film, television, streaming culture, and entertainment media
