ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - 10 MONTH CONTRACT
We are a mid-sized, independent creative communications agency on the hunt for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our energetic team on a 10-month contract to support our finance operations and help keep our finances running smoothly.
In this role, you will be working closely to the Senior Management Accountant.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Managing the Accounts Receivable process, including client invoicing, job management and debtors
• Managing the Accounts Payable process, including setting up new suppliers, entering supplier invoices and preparing payment runs
• Preparing and lodging BAS
• Handling payroll tax and preparing payroll journals
• Reconciling bank statements & company credit cards (and gently chasing receipts and job codes)
• Supporting month-end processes to keep us on track
• Pitching in with general finance admin and helping the team wherever needed
Requirements for this position
· University degree in Accounting/Finance (or working towards it)
· You have 2.5 years of experience in an accounting support role
· You know your way around accounting software and Excel
· You’re super organised, detail-obsessed, and love a good checklist.
· Excellent time management skills
· You can juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with ease (and a smile).
· You’re a team player who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
· You bring positive vibes and a “can-do” attitude to work every day
