Job Title: Content Marketing Specialist
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 + Super
Digital Next is expanding, and we’re seeking a meticulous content marketing specialist to join our vibrant team in South Melbourne. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with both national and international brands in an environment that cares deeply about quality work and actively supports professional development. You’ll be working across a diverse range of clients and will have plenty of opportunities to take ownership of accounts and their content strategies.
The ideal candidate will have experience in writing and editing various forms of digital content such as articles, press releases/media statements, blog posts, and web copy. A sound understanding of SEO best practices is also preferable.
We handle a high volume of content submissions and reporting for link building campaigns. As such, great organisational skills and high attention to detail will be crucial for performing well in this role. In addition to this, we also value candidates who are passionate about writing, eager to learn and advance in their careers, and possess proactive time management skills to meet stringent deadlines.
Our substantial client catalogue requires a candidate who won’t shy away from writing authoritatively on a diverse variety of subjects and industries, spanning from SaaS technologies to tourism, insurance, healthcare, mechanical repairs, home maintenance, and more.

A day in the life!
A day in the life of a content marketing specialist at Digital Next entails:
- Content production – create high-quality content outreach, on-site blogs, product descriptions, and other web copy for our diverse range of clients.
- Content strategising – develop comprehensive content strategies that align with SEO and PPC campaigns.
- SEO strategising – use SEO analytics tools to develop well-informed SEO content marketing efforts (i.e. keyword research and targeting, link building, etc.).
- Link building – manage your own link-building campaigns from set-up to content production, to content submissions and publication across paid and earned media.
- Producing briefs – conducting research into client products/services as well as on digital publications to produce bespoke content briefs for client campaigns.
- Collaboration with our SEO and PPC teams – the best content marketing campaigns take a three-pronged approach that utilises SEO best practices and paid search to both elevate visibility and guide the development of your content.
- Client communications – maintain open and effective communication with clients and agency partners.
What we’re looking for:
- 1+ year experience with writing marketing/promotional materials (agency or in-house experience)
- Experience across a diverse client base (i.e. tourism, tech/SaaS, real estate, insurance, home maintenance services etc.)
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, journalism and PR, or other related disciplines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Confidence in using various writing styles and following tailored content guidelines
- Ability to develop content for B2B and B2C clients
- Ability to work collaboratively across other departments
- Ability to receive and respond to feedback from clients, coworkers, and supervisors
- Proficiency in developing tailored media and marketing strategies
- Proficiency with Google Suite (including Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets)
- Working knowledge of digital marketing, digital journalism, and web content production
