Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic television journalist to deliver compelling news reports across a variety of platforms. The role requires excellent on-air delivery and presentation and a hunger for researching and delivering exclusive and breaking news content. The role requires flexibility and working across a 7-day roster, including travel as required.

Day to day you will:
- Develop and maintain contacts with personalities, organisations and key sources
- Produce and present compelling news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Write, edit, and present news stories with accuracy and clarity.
- Deliver live reports and cover events, including live interviews
- Provide insightful commentary and analysis on various topics.
- Demonstrate positive and professional communication, supporting a team environment.
- Communicate clearly, timely, and consistently, following NEC company policies where required.
- Embrace multiplatform journalism strategies, ensuring seamless integration across digital, social, and traditional media.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive newsroom culture.
Qualifications
What we would like:
- Proven experience working as a Journalist in a newsroom
- Ability to develop and maintain network of contacts within the industry
- Well-developed verbal communication skills including clear speaking voice
- Polished presentation ability on camera, including ability to deliver dynamic and compelling movement and storytelling
- Ability and willingness to report live, including under breaking news conditions
- Calmness and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Well developed research and interview skills
- An excellent memory for recalling scripts and facts
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of journalistic ethics, legal and compliance requirements
