Sweat It Out is a Sydney-based record label started by the late and great AJAX.  Central Station Records has a long history in the Australian dance music scene dating back to 1976.

Position summary:

We are looking for a dynamic, music loving person to lead marketing strategies and relevant social media for all key brands including but not limited to Sweat It Out, Club Sweat, Central Station Records, Tinted Records, October Records, Soul Modern, Dinky and Dark Machine Records.

The primary purpose of this role is to spearhead all marketing activities across the businesses, driving creativity and supporting revenue growth through sales and production management.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Devising and executing marketing campaigns for all priority label releases, digital and physical marketing, social media activity, management of advertising spends and strategy
  • Stay across emerging marketing platforms, opportunities and strategies
  • Manage the label’s relationships with all DSPs covering pitching and marketing activations
  • Developing, refining and maintaining brand identities within the digital and social media space; ensuring copy and tone is consistent and engaging
  • Briefing our designer on the creation of shareable graphics, channel art, adverts, etc.
  • Identifying, building and executing strategies to build and galvanise each label’s audiences
  • Driving social media and digital channel growth – including but not limited to Spotify, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, Tik Tok and Mailchimp
  • Community management. Actively engaging with fans, artists and more across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and emerging platforms
  • Working alongside artists and management to drive tour and event marketing (the companies have stakes in), leveraging to further capture audience data where possible
  • Devise, manage and drive merchandise store marketing campaigns in conjunction with the merchandise store manager.
  • Manage digital marketing campaigns including Facebook, YouTube and Google AdWords (This could be with the assistance of a digital advertising agency or a marketing coordinator)
  • Manage effective advertising copy, both paid and editorial (This could be with the assistance of a digital advertising agency or a marketing coordinator).
  • Work alongside Label, PR and artist managers to devise content calendars across all our social channels
  • Capture, grow and exploit the label’s direct audience database
  • Drive event strategy, advise and executing effective marketing and awareness campaigns
  • Assist and advise on brand management and alignment
  • Maintain and update owned channels, including websites and social channels
  • YouTube channel management (not including rights management)
  • Newsletter and mailing list management in conjunction with PR dept
  • Managing and distributing weekly reports for internal and external use of all work activities, including budgeting, forecasting, timelines and scheduling of marketing activations and social media in collaboration with the PR team
  • Solicitation of treatments for videos, and commission on approval within budget and provide Artist support at shoots.

Skills & qualifications:

  • 3+ years senior marketing experience
  • Extensive knowledge and contacts within Australian music media and related brands/agencies
  • A proven history of creative campaign development and execution
  • Experience with executing and managing digital marketing campaigns, including Facebook, Power Editor, YouTube Pre-roll campaigns and Google AdWords.
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Experience with managing and driving social media channels and community management (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc)
  • Thorough understanding of the streaming music landscape and the development of streaming best practices
  • Thorough understanding of the YouTube platform, CMS & Content ID
  • Experience managing external marketing agencies including developing briefs and managing budgets as necessary
  • Time-management skills
  • Experience working closely with artist management and direct artist relationships
  • A keen and creative eye for detail
  • Extensive knowledge of today’s music landscape and the opportunities that exist across all platforms: retail, streaming & promotional
  • Proven skills in problem solving
  • Must have permanent residency and eligible to work in Australia
  • Demonstrated understanding of all processes and outcomes related to releasing music in the digital age
  • Understanding of the Linkfire platform and how to maximize its potential
  • Brand management experience
  • Experience in developing brand partnerships and creating opportunities for brands and artists
  • Event management experience
