We have an exciting opportunity for an organised, innovative and self-motivated Marketing Executive to join our book-loving Marketing and Publicity team. 
We’re after someone who is extremely creative, has a real passion for books and can write attention-grabbing marketing copy to stop potential readers mid-scroll. The Marketing Executive is responsible for driving all digital-led activity with effective campaigns across the ever-changing digital landscape; as well as creating strong marketing content for a variety of uses, both digital and physical. Whether it’s for a newsletter, blog post, catalogue, education resource or book proof, the candidate will be ready with original and engaging content.
The ideal candidate is someone who has strong communication and organisational skills, understands the dynamic of a small team, and wants to be hands-on and involved. This role requires a minimum of two years’ experience in a ‘like’ role which could be adapted.

Below is a snapshot of what the role involves:
•    Create, publish and share engaging content across Walker Books Australia’s social media channels
•    Create and execute social media and digital advertising strategy
•    Report and reflect on relevant social media data to increase engagement
•    Work with creators and agencies directly to create and share engaging content
•    Coordinate printed marketing material schedule
•    Coordinate attendance and material for bookseller and education conferences
•    Write copy for a variety of materials and purposes
•    Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you will need the following key skills & attributes:
•    A team player with the ability to work in a small, collaborative, fast paced environment with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
•    A passion for children’s books, with preferable experience within the book industry or similar industry
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
•    Interest and awareness of the children’s book industry and competitor activity
•    Strong understanding of the media landscape 
•    Awareness of digital and media trends
•    Interest in popular culture and current events
•    An innovative thinker with creative flair
•    Commitment to author care
•    A developing knowledge of Australian literature and writing and international authors, with a particular focus on children’s works and authors

This is a full-time role based in the Sydney office and we offer flexible working hours and work from home options.
