Sunset Cinema returns in the spring/summer 2022/23 for a massive season of movies under the stars across 7 locations nationally.

Role Description:

As the Sunset Cinema Content Marketing Coordinator, you will use your content development skills to help deliver our marketing campaigns through representing our iconic experience across our channels. Sunset Cinema’s marketing and content strategy is a crucial key in reaching new customers and informing our loyal patrons. This role has a strong focus on content creation across digital, including social and email.

The customer journey is paramount, and by clarifying our message and focusing our communications on the customer we have an amazing opportunity to tailor each & every customer journey which ultimately leads to ticket sales.

You will also help execute a communications plan to ensure our summer community presence, encapsulating our brand identity and tone. We don’t like to just inform our customers but engage and speak to them directly.

This role will also work closely with the Marketing Manager, General Manager and Ticketing Coordinator to execute both our marketing strategy and that of our paid sponsors. As well as assisting in developing our season film & event program.


  • Coordinating, refining & executing the season’s marketing campaigns
  • Produce engaging content that speaks to our customers
  • Coordinate our communications plan including publicity assets with our PR agency
  • Monitor and report on performance
  • Utilise ticketing & CRM data to directly target Sunset’s different audiences
  • Produce and send weekly EDMs across our different locations
  • Create organic social content that aligns with the brand identity
  • Coordinate creative assets across our different channels
  • Ensure brand identity & tone is consistent, including its ongoing development
  • Assist is maintaining an optimal website
  • Assist in marketing & sponsorship partnerships across our channels


  • A demonstrated passion & interest in the events, entertainment &/or film industry.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in marketing, including digital, social media & eDM
  • An ability to embrace the Sunset vision and grow the brand through all customer touchpoints
  • Ability to manage time sensitive projects and competing priorities
  • Graphic design &/or video knowledge advantageous, but not essential (Canva, Adobe CC)

Work Environment:

This role is based out of our Sydney office. During the season there may be the opportunities to travel to our different locations.

As Sunset Cinema runs outside of working hours, there will be some need to be flexible with working schedule.

Employment Basis:

This is a 5-6 month full-time contract position, commencing October/November 2022 based on the availability of the successful candidate.
