We are a boutique Sydney based record label, touring and events agency, representing the most in demand electronic artists & DJs from Australia and around the world.  As the Legal Assistant you will work closely with our Lawyer and COO.

Proposed Roles and Responsibilities

 Recordings

  • Performing due diligence on individuals and entities on personal/company information
  • Assisting with initial drafts on all recording agreements with my guidance on simple touring contracts
  • Assisting with initial review and amendments on recording agreements with my guidance on simple recording contracts
  • Assisting with the creation of agency specific departure tables that can be used by them to perform mark-ups and for future lawyers

Touring & Events

  • Performing due diligence on individuals and entities on personal/company information
  • Assisting with initial drafts on all touring and events agreements with my guidance on simple touring contracts
  • Assisting with initial review and amendments on touring and events agreements with my guidance on simple recording contracts
  • Assisting with the creation of agency specific departure tables that can be used by them to perform mark-ups and for future lawyers

Administrative

  • Reviewing and updating templates with instructions
  • Performing legal research
    • For latest legislation and practice methodology
    • Consolidating review and comparison of competing contracts and templates
    • Implementing research into templates, letters, and other documentation
  • Reviewing and organising the folders and files in Dropbox:
    • Including fulsome review of historical files and consolidating useful and redundant precedence;
    • Reviewing the process and use of the folders by staff members and working with me to create workflows and charts for staff member use across departments to access information, guides, and precedence
  • Assisting with the creation of templates guides, contract guide, disputes guides, precedence tables incorporating all of the above information

Disputes

  • Assisting with the evaluation of the existence and legitimacy of requested disputes
  • Assisting with obtaining the relevant information for disputes
  • Performing initial drafts of letters of demands and subsequent letters
  • Performing initial drafts of statutory demands and follow ups
  • Performing initial drafts of court documents
  • Due diligence on disputed parties
  • Legal research on areas of law relevant to dispute
  • Assisting with the review of evidence and assisting with assessing liability (eg. extensive review of historical correspondence in disputes that may arise on historical matters)

IT

  • Assisting with privacy audit and review of privacy collection practices and whether they line up with our privacy policy and collection statement
