Our venues Finance team are currently looking to grow their crew.

With the addition of a new venue into the group in 2022; Hindley Street Music Hall and plans to grow further in 2023, this is an exciting time to join an expanding business.

We are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join the Brisbane based Venues Finance team. You will be part of a high performing, creative and dynamic team.

main purpose

This role supports the Commercial Finance Manager in ensuring all financial reporting requirements of Secret Sounds venues are met. This is a hybrid role, combining predominately financial accounting with some management accounting duties.

key responsibilities and duties

Preparing of monthly journals as required
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of monthly roll forwards & reconciliation through our BPC corporate reporting software
Preparation of various reporting requests from the APAC reporting team
Assisting in intercompany reconciliations
Assisting in preparation of cash flow
Processing of stocktakes
Credit card reconciliations
Management accounting support – reconciliation of projects, variance analysis, etc
Review payments and approve in online banking
BAS queries and FBT preparation
Assist with audits requirements and respond to any internal audit/external audit findings as required
Ad-hoc duties as required

skills and experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance & working towards CPA / CA
Demonstrated work experience in a similar financial accounting role with exposure to month end processes
Highly proficient in excel, word & outlook
Ability to work under pressure, in a team & autonomously
Ability & willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Strong analytical skills, accuracy & attention to detail
