We have an exciting opportunity for an Events & Marketing Support Volunteer to join our dynamic team at Cancer Council NSW! As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in assisting with various administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of events such as Stars of Hastings and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Coordinator, the purpose of this role is to provide administration and event assistance on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide essential administrative support to the Community Fundraising Coordinator
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling email communications.
  • Draft and proofread communications, including emails, press releases, and marketing materials.
  • Support logistical coordination for events, working closely with vendors and managing supplies.
  • Contribute to content creation for social media posts, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Provide on-site support during events, managing registration and addressing logistical needs.

Our ideal volunteer will have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Passion for event planning in the not-for-profit sector

Time Commitment:

The time commitment for this volunteer position is flexible, with the opportunity to contribute based on your availability. A one day per week would be ideal.
