We are seeking an experienced Data & Insights Analyst to join our Growth team in Sydney or Melbourne on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Data & Insights Analyst will play an integral part in facilitating improved understanding of audience (across the full lifecycle), reader revenue (conversion, ARPU, churn) and insights that assist with the optimal execution of growth initiatives. This role will work closely with the Deputy Director of Growth and the Growth Marketing Manager to focus on the day-to-day optimisation of growth initiatives, as well as the Director of Growth by leading weekly and monthly performance reporting. 

Key responsibilities include generating and presenting insights for strategic growth initiatives through commercial interpretation and data analysis, building a deep understanding of the lifecycle of our readers and supporters through audience segmentation and analysis, and reporting on performance and identifying trends across audience behaviour, the customer journey, opportunity areas and A/B testing. The Data & Insights Analyst will also communicate weekly top-line performance across key data, insights and actionable recommendations to the Growth team, leadership team and the broader business.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in building performance narratives from large data-sets, experience managing the optimisation of audience journeys through multi-channel marketing campaigns and an understanding of defining and building audience segmentation in CRM automation tools. They will also have demonstrated experience using A/B and multivariate testing to optimise marketing initiatives and a passion for journalism, with a good understanding of the Guardian’s role and competitive positioning in the Australian media landscape.
