The Opportunity:
We are seeking an eager and organised Accounts & Operations Assistant to join our growing team. In this position, you will execute day-to-day finance functions, create budget forecasting and reporting, and liaise as point-contact for all things finance. In addition, you will oversee the office’s smooth operation and facilities, provide a conduit between our small team of administration coordinators, and implement initiatives to improve business operations processes.
This position is offered as a 3-4 day per week part-time position, with the possibility of expanding to a full-time role in future.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts payable, staff payroll and general bookkeeping (using Xero).
- Oversee, approve and process weekly client batch payments across multiple bank accounts/platforms.
- Updating standard reports regarding weekly metrics relating to financial and operational health of the business.
- Provide regular ‘bigger picture’ reports, analysis and observations regarding overall financial position and budget variance.
- Liaise with external accountant on BAS/EOFY obligations and compliance.
- Lead and manage a small team of Artist Operations Coordinators responsible for fulfilling the day-to-day administration needs of confirmed bookings; troubleshooting and resolving escalated issues as required.
- Recommend, implement and document improvements to the Operations process.
- Various ad hoc tasks related to the smooth operation of the company (eg, liaising with and securing quotes from third party suppliers, making small updates to our website, assisting with special events and projects, etc)
- Identify eligibility and apply for applicable grants and funding (in collaboration with Managing Director).
Requirements and Qualifications
- Xero certification incl Payroll certification required. (Xero Qualification is available free-of-charge on their official website).

Degree/certification in Music Business (from AIM, JMC, or similar) highly regarded.

Previous experience using Xero and Notion also both highly regarded.
- Proficient in using Gmail and Google Workspace essential.
- A high level of attention-to-detail and ability to follow processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
