Pedestrian Group is looking for an Accountant to further strengthen our Finance team. Working alongside the Chief Strategy Officer and Group Finance Manager, you’ll work across the Group supporting its commercial, editorial and operational teams in our Sydney Office.
The key responsibilities of this role are to lead on all transactional finance activities and lead alongside the Group Finance Manager the month-end close.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close – posting journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliation, review credit card statements etc.
- Responsible for all Accounts Payable including AP invoices and employee expense reimbursements
- Responsible for all Accounts Receivable, including processing, verifying and reconciling invoices
- Working directly with Editorial, Projects and Studios team to support onboarding and payment of casual staff and freelancers, supporting the delivery of editorial content and advertising campaigns
- Supporting divisional leads in managing their budgeted spend, including Technology team
- Assist with the preparation of half-year and annual audit and tax requirements
Other duties will include supporting the preparation of cash flow forecasts, bank reconciliations, monthly payroll and internal and external financial and performance reporting.
Requirements:
- 3+ years Accounting experience
- Relevant accounting qualification (tertiary), CA / CPA desirable but not essential
- Xero and ProSpend (or similar) experience
- Can do attitude, team player, resourceful self starter
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- At ease multi-tasking and prioritising workload

Whilst not essential, an interest or experience working in Digital Publishing and Advertising will help bring perspective to the role.
